Wijnand Driessen (Nuenen, 1984) is a visual artist based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

Creating a painting is like creating a new world that can bring people there.

After having spent 6 months in Japan, the land of anime, I started my professional career as a background painter for many animation productions. Having worked for major studios as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Madhouse and others.

Coming from animation has given me a unique painting style. Mostly painting city- and landscapes void of people. This gives it a surrealistic and magical feel, resonating with Hopper and Willink.Japan is major source of inspiration for his work. The handpainted and detailed qualities found in Japanese animation inspired him to become this meticulous artist.
